Perricone Nutritional Face Lift Diet

Dr. Nicholas Perricone, a well-known California dermatologist, has devised the “Nutritional Face Lift” as a way for men and women to give their appearance a boost. It is important to note here that Perricone does not focus on weight loss per se at all in the program; rather, he is primarily concerned with skin health. However, people wanting to lose weight who are also concerned about premature aging may well wish to give this program a closer look.

His 28-day plan emphasizes a source of protein which Perricone obviously values for the content of “good” fats: wild salmon and other cold-water fish. (If you don’t like salmon, you should think about trying another diet! Two or more meals in each of the first three days feature salmon as the main course.) Other “super” foods that he says you should include in each meal include the following: beans or peas, fruits, vegetables, “good” fats from fruits (avocado, olive oil), certain spices such as cinnamon and turmeric, yogurt, spicy hot peppers, nuts and seeds, and whole grains.

He also warns dieters against high-glycemic index foods such as white bread, pasta, white rice, and potatoes. These foods, he says, lead to premature aging by causing inflammation. Perricone also suggests ditching the diet sodas for pure spring water. Something important to note: As part of the plan, Dr. Perricone recommends using several different skin products.
