Hip and Thigh Diet
The Hip and Thigh Diet was created by British nutritionist Rosemary Conley, who claims that by eating and exercising the right way, one can lose weight specifically from the hip and thigh area. Conley does not follow the currently-popular low carbohydrate approach; instead suggesting that dieters increase their consumption of carbs to a moderate level. Her rationale behind this is that carb intake actually helps prevent the urge to binge that occurs with many diets. It is a low-fat diet that allows the dieter to lose weight without ever feeling hungry.
Her book, The Hip and Thigh Diet, was originally written in 1988 but was updated in 2002 with new recipes and weight loss suggestions. Specifics of the diet? She emphasizes drinking a lot of water, allowing only a small amount of fruit juice and milk each day. Her book has over 150 different meal recipes covering all of your daily needs. In addition, Conley suggests never to eat certain foods while on the plan (one could guess this would be high-fat, high-sugar items.) Conley also provides suggestions for exercise and describes several which she believes will help you tone your muscles and burn fat in those pesky hip and thigh areas.
