Grapefruit Diet
The Grapefruit Diet is a plan intended to help lose weight and build heart health. Beta-carotene is found in grapefruit which is a great cholesterol reducer. The diet allows three meals a day and a snack at night. The dieter has a choice between half a grapefruit or eight ounces of grapefruit juice each time the word grapefruit is written.
Breakfast is grapefruit, two eggs, and two slices of bacon. Grapefruit, salad with any dressing you prefer, and all of the meat you wish to eat make up lunch. Dinner consists of grapefruit, meat or fish and a cup of coffee or tea. A salad with any kind of dressing or a red or green vegetable prepared with butter can also be added to dinner. The night time snack is a cup of skim milk or a glass of tomato juice.
The good thing about this weight loss plan is that the portions are unlimited. You can eat as much as you want as long as you are only consuming the foods listed. People have experienced quick weight loss on this diet, however it is not recommended to stay on it for an extended period of time due to the very low number of calories and the excess amount of red meat.
