“Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle” is a weight loss program developed by bodybuilder Tom Venuto. It is a 340-page diet and fitness ebook that promises to help you lose fat, not just lose weight. In the book, Venuto discusses other diet plans and tells you why, in his opinion, they do not work in the long run.

His book is written from the perspective of an “industry insider.” As a successful bodybuilder and trainer, Venuto claims to have helped countless individuals discover the pitfalls of fad dieting. He tells you secrets of the nutritional supplement industry that may affect the way you’ve been trying to lose weight.

His program is heavy on personalization. Venuto helps you calculate your own ideal body weight (not using BMI) and gives you guidelines for finding your own ideal daily intake of carbs, fats, and proteins. He says that most diets do not work because they do not take into account each person’s individual body composition in their ratios (for example, the Zone or Atkins diets.) He also includes lists of the top twelve foods you should (and should not) eat to lose weight successfully.
