Abs Diet
The Abs Diet was formulated by David Zinczenko, the editor-in-chief of Men’s Health magazine. He claims that by following his simple eating and exercise plan, anyone can lose weight and enjoy the toned, washboard abs frequently featured on the front cover. Weight loss, he says, is boosted by muscle gain. Since muscle burns more calories than fat, building your muscle helps you boost that metabolism and shed extra pounds faster.
His diet focuses on twelve “superfoods” that everyone should include in their diet: antioxidant-rich fruits, whole grains, lean proteins, good fats like olive oil, and low-fat dairy, to name a few. There is also a restaurant dining guide included in the book to help you stay focused on your goals while enjoying an evening out.
Zinczenko recommends spreading your meals out into six smaller meals a day, to prevent getting overly hungry and increasing your metabolism. The exercise plan is not extremely demanding, only requiring a 20-minute strength workout three times a week.
